Privacy & Affiliate Disclosure

The short version

We don't collect your personal data. No accounts, no tracking cookies, no mailing list. We count page views, but not in a way that identifies anyone. We earn a commission when you buy through some of our links, which never changes what we recommend or what you pay.

Affiliate links

Some links to retailers on this site are affiliate links. If you follow one and buy something, we may receive a commission from the retailer. You pay the same price either way - the commission comes out of the retailer's margin, not your pocket.

This does not influence which watches appear on the site or what we say about them. We include watches we think are worth looking at, including ones we earn nothing from. If a watch is here, it is because of the watch.

When you follow an affiliate link, the retailer may set a cookie in your browser to attribute the referral. That cookie is set by them, under their privacy policy, not ours.

What we collect

Nothing that identifies you. We set no tracking cookies of our own, and have no login, comments, or newsletter.

We do count page views, using Vercel Web Analytics. It records which pages are viewed, which site a visitor arrived from, and rough details like country and device type. It sets no cookies and uses no identifier that could follow you to another site: visitors are told apart by a hash of the request that is discarded and regenerated every day, so nobody can be recognised from one day to the next.

That means the figures are counts rather than people. We can see that a page was viewed four hundred times; we cannot see who by, or that any two of those views were the same person on different days. It is the reason this page needs no cookie banner.

Our hosting provider also keeps standard server logs - IP address, browser type, pages requested, timestamps - for security and reliability. These are generated automatically by the infrastructure and are retained for a short period. We do not use them to build a profile of you.

Email

If you email us, we keep your message and address so we can reply, and for as long as needed to deal with what you asked about. We don't add you to any list and we don't pass your details to anyone else.

Other sites

This site links out to retailers and manufacturers. Once you leave, you are covered by their privacy policies rather than this one. We have no control over what they collect.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office. In practice we hold nothing unless you have emailed us, in which case we hold that email.

Questions about any of this go to hello@kensingtonwatches.com.

Changes

If we start collecting anything more - a newsletter, a contact form, anything that identifies a person - we will update this page and change the date at the top before we do.
