Stepping up in Olivia Burton's range
Named after one of London's most recognisable garden squares, the Grosvenor takes its shape from the architecture around it — a soft square case with rounded corners that sits closer to a courtyard than a dial. The 65 crystals running the outer track of the sunray gold dial catch the light at angles that shift through the day, and the North Star set at six o'clock is a house signature that reads as a punctuation mark rather than decoration. At 28mm across and only 7mm deep, the case lies almost flush against the wrist — the kind of profile that disappears under a sleeve and reappears as a considered detail when the cuff moves. The five-link bracelet is proportioned to match, narrow enough to carry the scale of the case without overwhelming a small wrist.

Learn more about Olivia Burton
Lesa Bennett and Jemma Fennings started Olivia Burton in London in 2012, coming from fashion rather than watchmaking and treating the watch as an accessory to be designed rather than a instrument to be engineered.
That showed in the product: illustrated dials, floral and bee motifs, applied three-dimensional details, mesh and leather straps in soft colours. The bee became the signature, and the brand found a large audience among buyers who wanted something with a point of view at under £200.
Movado Group acquired the company in 2017, placing it alongside Movado, Ebel, Concord and MVMT. Production and distribution run through Movado; the design identity has stayed recognisably its own.
The watches are quartz and the appeal is the artwork, not the movement — which is a fair description of what the brand set out to do in the first place.

Frequently asked questions, and things you should know about this watch
Can I swim with it?
No. At 30m it will survive rain and handwashing, but not submersion of any kind.
Will the glass scratch?
It can, over time. Mineral glass handles daily wear but will pick up fine scratches that sapphire would not.
Does it need a battery?
Yes. It is quartz, so expect a battery change every two to three years at a jeweller.
Is it a men's or women's watch?
Listed as women's.
Cheapest place to buy
Both Goldsmiths and F.Hinds list it at £149, so choose on delivery and warranty rather than price.
Who are Goldsmiths?
Goldsmiths has been selling watches in Britain since 1778 and is part of the Watches of Switzerland Group, which is listed on the London Stock Exchange. They are an authorised dealer, so a watch comes with the manufacturer’s own warranty.
