GMT Watches
A GMT watch shows a second time zone on an extra hand running on a 24-hour scale, read against a marked bezel or a fixed 24-hour ring. It is the most genuinely useful complication after the date.

Two mechanisms exist and the difference matters if you travel. A true GMT, sometimes called a flyer or caller depending on which hand jumps, lets you move the local hour hand in one-hour steps without stopping the watch, so you reset on landing in seconds. An office GMT moves the 24-hour hand instead, which is fine for tracking home from a desk but awkward on arrival. The specification rarely says which, and the price is a reasonable guide.
A rotating 24-hour bezel adds a third zone. Between GBP 110 and GBP 39,000 here, with the median around GBP 620, Seiko and Certina cover the practical end and Oris and Zenith the serious one.
