Limit 5892 Centenary Collection Pocket Watch And Chain - W7767
Ref. 5892
Sits in Limit’s upper tier here — more premium than three quarters of the Limit watches we list, which start at £15.
Price range £15 to £60 across 32 Limit watches in stock.Limit has kept pocket watches in production longer than almost any British brand still trading, and the Centenary Collection draws directly on that early catalogue — the case proportions, the Roman numeral layout and the Albert chain fitting are all borrowed from a format that predates the wristwatch entirely. The white dial reads with the kind of clarity that only high contrast achieves: bold Roman numerals against a plain ground, with ornate hands that feel appropriate to the form rather than decorative for its own sake. The date sits at six o'clock, a position that makes sense on a dial meant to be read face-on in the palm rather than glanced at on a wrist. The polished steel case opens on a press-button release, and the front face is broad enough to take engraving — which on a pocket watch intended as a gift is a detail worth knowing.

Learn more about Limit
Limit has been sold in Britain since 1912, and for most of that time it has occupied one position without much deviation: the cheapest watch in the shop that is still worth owning.
It sits under Time Products, the same ownership as Sekonda and Accurist, which gives all three shared sourcing and distribution across British jewellers, catalogue retailers and department stores.
The range is deliberately conservative — plain dials, Roman or baton markers, gold-plated and stainless cases, leather and bracelet straps, mostly quartz with a small number of mechanical models. Pocket watches remain part of the catalogue, which few brands can still say.
It is a first watch, a school watch, a work watch and a gift watch, and it has been all four for over a century without pretending to be anything else.

Frequently asked questions, and things you should know about this watch
Will the glass scratch?
It can, over time. Mineral glass handles daily wear but will pick up fine scratches that sapphire would not.
Does it need a battery?
Yes. It is quartz, so expect a battery change every two to three years at a jeweller.
Is it a men's or women's watch?
Listed as men's.
