Learn more about Burberry

Thomas Burberry opened a draper's shop in Basingstoke in 1856 and invented gabardine in 1879 — a breathable weatherproof fabric that clothed Antarctic expeditions and British officers in the trenches. The trench coat is his.

The watches are produced under licence and carry the house check on dials and straps, with Swiss quartz and automatic movements in generally restrained cases.

Among licensed fashion watches these are on the quieter end, drawing on the brand's genuine British heritage rather than on ornament.

Burberry holds 54 models, from £149 to £382. Half cost less than £178, and a quarter less than £167. Prices are checked nightly against the retailers’ own feeds.
