The Miyota 8N24 inside is a solid Japanese automatic — 21 jewels, 42 hours of reserve — and the exhibition caseback lets you appreciate it from both sides, though the blue-tinted dial treatment is clearly doing more decorative work than technical. At 43mm it wears as a presence piece, and the blue leather strap ties the dial colour through to the wrist in a way that reads as considered rather than incidental. The skeletonised face shifts considerably under changing light: flat indoor light flattens the movement into pattern, while angled natural light picks out the bridges and gives the whole thing more depth than the price bracket usually manages.
