Frederique Constant Highlife Worldtimer Manufacture 41mm
Ref. FC-718N4NH6B
Sits in Frederique Constant’s upper tier here — more premium than three quarters of the Frederique Constant watches we list, which start at £595.
Price range £595 to £3,995 across 27 Frederique Constant watches in stock. The Highlife collection marked a deliberate shift for Frederique Constant: away from the round-cased dress watches the brand had built its reputation on, and toward something with a broader wrist presence and a more contemporary character. The worldtimer variant takes that further by housing the in-house FC-718 manufacture calibre — a movement finished with perlage and circular Côtes de Genève, and notable for allowing the worldtimer, date and home time to be set from a single crown position without pushers. That is a more considered piece of engineering than the complication usually receives. The cushion case gives the 24-city outer ring and the embossed globe motif enough room to read clearly without crowding, and the day/night disc ensures the worldtimer is genuinely usable at a glance. At 159 grams on the bracelet it is a substantial watch, and the integrated lugs mean it sits flush rather than perching. The quick-release spring bars are a practical addition: swapping to a strap requires no tools, which matters on a watch that is, in purpose, about moving between time zones.

Frequently asked questions, and things you should know about this watch
Can I swim with it?
Showering yes, swimming no. 50m covers splashes and brief immersion, but a swimming stroke generates well above the pressure that figure describes.
Will the glass scratch?
Unlikely. Sapphire is second only to diamond in hardness and shrugs off everyday marking.
Does it need a battery?
No. It is automatic — the motion of your wrist winds it, and there is no cell to replace.
How long does it run for when it's not worn?
About 38 hours fully wound — so it will usually stop if you leave it off overnight.
What size strap does it take?
25.5mm. Any strap of that width will fit, and on most modern watches quick-release bars make the swap a two-minute job with no tools.
Is it a men's or women's watch?
Listed as men's.
Cheapest place to buy
Goldsmiths is the only UK retailer we track stocking this reference, so there is nothing to compare it against today.
Who are Goldsmiths?
Goldsmiths has been selling watches in Britain since 1778 and is part of the Watches of Switzerland Group, which is listed on the London Stock Exchange. They are an authorised dealer, so a watch comes with the manufacturer’s own warranty.
