Michel Herbelin 1645B15 Cap Camarat Automatic Bracelet Watch - W03104
Ref. 1645B15
The Cap Camarat takes its cues from the integrated sports watches that defined the 1970s, and it wears that lineage without apology. The hexagonal case — brushed and polished in alternating planes, held together by six visible alignment screws around the fixed bezel — makes the design intent legible at a glance. At 10.3mm thick, it sits flatter than most watches rated to 100 metres, which is part of why the integrated bracelet feels considered rather than incidental: the four-link construction flows directly from the case architecture, and the butterfly clasp keeps the underside uninterrupted against the wrist. The blue dial carries a horizontal stamped texture known as marinière, a reference to the broad-striped shirt of the French sailor. In flat light it reads as a single deep tone; angled toward a window, the pattern becomes legible and the gradient shifts. It is a detail that repays a second look without demanding one. Hand-assembled in Herbelin's Franche-Comté workshops, it runs on a Sellita SW200-1 — a movement with a 41-hour power reserve that is both well-regarded and straightforward to service anywhere in the world. At 164 grams on the wrist, this is a substantial piece, but one with a clear and coherent reason to exist.

Frequently asked questions, and things you should know about this watch
Can I swim with it?
Yes. At 100m it is rated for swimming and snorkelling, though not for diving.
Will the glass scratch?
Unlikely. Sapphire is second only to diamond in hardness and shrugs off everyday marking.
Does it need a battery?
No. It is automatic — the motion of your wrist winds it, and there is no cell to replace.
How long does it run for when it's not worn?
About 41 hours fully wound — enough to survive a night off the wrist, but not a full weekend.
Is it a men's or women's watch?
Listed as men's.
