Part of Lorus's Sapphire collection, this is a dress watch built around a single constraint: it should disappear beneath a shirt cuff. At 7.4mm thick, it manages that convincingly — slimmer than almost anything else at 40mm, and lighter on the wrist than the 90g weight suggests once the bracelet is properly fitted. The white sunray dial does what the format demands: dauphine hands and baton indices give it a clean hierarchy, and the sunray finishing catches light in a way that stops the dial reading flat. The VJ42 movement is Seiko Instruments' own quartz calibre, which means the accuracy and reliability you would expect from that source at a fraction of the movement cost of a Swiss equivalent. Links remove by hand for sizing, and the three-fold clasp releases cleanly — worth knowing before the first wearing, so the fit is right from the start.
