Stepping up in Police's range
At 47mm across and 12mm through the case, this is a watch built for visibility rather than discretion — the kind of proportions that read clearly across a room and dominate the wrist rather than sitting quietly on it. The black PVD finish pulls the case dark and matte, so the sandblasted cream dial becomes the only place the eye lands, with baton markers and Arabic numerals at the quarters keeping the read clean rather than busy. The 77-gram weight sits noticeably on the wrist — this is a watch you feel — and the 24mm lug width means replacement straps are easy to source if the brown leather eventually needs retiring. For what it is, the combination of darkened hardware with a warm, pale dial does a reasonable job of holding together as a single look.

Learn more about Police
Police began in Italy in 1983 as an eyewear brand under the Vogue and later De Rigo groups, and built its identity on sunglasses worn by film and music figures through the 1980s and 1990s.
The watches are licensed rather than made in-house, produced under agreement by a specialist watch manufacturer and sold through jewellers and department stores alongside the eyewear and fragrance.
Design follows the label: heavy cases, dark PVD finishes, exposed screws and industrial detailing, skull and heraldic motifs, and a masculine, deliberately loud aesthetic that changes with the season rather than the decade.
Movements are quartz, occasionally multi-function, and prices sit in the fashion-watch bracket.
Taken as an accessory that matches a particular look, the range does what it sets out to. It is not a watchmaking company and does not present itself as one.

Frequently asked questions, and things you should know about this watch
Can I swim with it?
Showering yes, swimming no. 50m covers splashes and brief immersion, but a swimming stroke generates well above the pressure that figure describes.
Will the glass scratch?
It can, over time. Mineral glass handles daily wear but will pick up fine scratches that sapphire would not.
Does it need a battery?
Yes. It is quartz, so expect a battery change every two to three years at a jeweller.
What size strap does it take?
24mm. Any strap of that width will fit, and on most modern watches quick-release bars make the swap a two-minute job with no tools.
Is it a men's or women's watch?
Listed as men's.
