Police PEWJN2194440 Police Laser Blue Dial Black Silicone Strap Watch - W44152

Ref. PEWJN2194440

The laser finish on the dial is the detail worth understanding here: it gives the blue surface a depth and directional quality that shifts under different light rather than sitting flat. At 44mm across and only 11mm deep, the case wears with less bulk on the wrist than its footprint suggests, and the all-black PVD coating ties the case to the strap without interruption. Arabic numerals at twelve and six break up what would otherwise be a uniform index pattern, and the solid seconds hand in plain black reads clearly against the luminous hour and minute hands. A silicone strap at this size is a practical choice — it moves with the wrist, handles heat without complaint, and the pin buckle keeps adjustment simple.

Learn more about Police

Police began in Italy in 1983 as an eyewear brand under the Vogue and later De Rigo groups, and built its identity on sunglasses worn by film and music figures through the 1980s and 1990s.

The watches are licensed rather than made in-house, produced under agreement by a specialist watch manufacturer and sold through jewellers and department stores alongside the eyewear and fragrance.

Design follows the label: heavy cases, dark PVD finishes, exposed screws and industrial detailing, skull and heraldic motifs, and a masculine, deliberately loud aesthetic that changes with the season rather than the decade.

Movements are quartz, occasionally multi-function, and prices sit in the fashion-watch bracket.

Taken as an accessory that matches a particular look, the range does what it sets out to. It is not a watchmaking company and does not present itself as one.

Frequently asked questions, and things you should know about this watch

Will the glass scratch?

It can, over time. Mineral glass handles daily wear but will pick up fine scratches that sapphire would not.

Does it need a battery?

Yes. It is quartz, so expect a battery change every two to three years at a jeweller.

Is it a men's or women's watch?

Listed as men's.
