Stepping up in the same colour and case shape
At 47mm with a lug-to-lug of 53mm, this is a watch that makes no attempt to go unnoticed. The all-black PVD case, hardware, and bracelet form a single dark mass on the wrist — the kind of monochrome coordination that fashion watches often reach for but rarely land cleanly, because it requires every component to hold the same finish under the same light. Here it works, partly because the sandblasted dial introduces a faint warm undertone that prevents the whole thing reading as flat. At 179 grams it sits with weight on the wrist, and the 24mm lug width means the bracelet fills that presence without looking narrow or tacked on. Link removal is handled with split pins rather than a tool-free system, which takes a few minutes on first fit but gives a bracelet that moves without play once sized. The date window is small and sits without disrupting the dial — practical, unshowy, and suited to a watch whose job is to be seen rather than studied.

Learn more about Police
Police began in Italy in 1983 as an eyewear brand under the Vogue and later De Rigo groups, and built its identity on sunglasses worn by film and music figures through the 1980s and 1990s.
The watches are licensed rather than made in-house, produced under agreement by a specialist watch manufacturer and sold through jewellers and department stores alongside the eyewear and fragrance.
Design follows the label: heavy cases, dark PVD finishes, exposed screws and industrial detailing, skull and heraldic motifs, and a masculine, deliberately loud aesthetic that changes with the season rather than the decade.
Movements are quartz, occasionally multi-function, and prices sit in the fashion-watch bracket.
Taken as an accessory that matches a particular look, the range does what it sets out to. It is not a watchmaking company and does not present itself as one.

Frequently asked questions, and things you should know about this watch
Can I swim with it?
No. At 30m it will survive rain and handwashing, but not submersion of any kind.
Will the glass scratch?
It can, over time. Mineral glass handles daily wear but will pick up fine scratches that sapphire would not.
Does it need a battery?
Yes. It is quartz, so expect a battery change every two to three years at a jeweller.
What size strap does it take?
24mm. Any strap of that width will fit, and on most modern watches quick-release bars make the swap a two-minute job with no tools.
Will it fit my wrist?
Lug-to-lug is 53mm, which suits wrists from roughly 17.5cm (7 inches) upward.
Lug-to-lug decides fit more than case diameter does.
Is it a men's or women's watch?
Listed as men's.
