Stepping up in Radley's range
A rectangular smartwatch pitched squarely at daily wear rather than the wrist of someone who thinks much about watches — the Series 21 pairs Radley's fashion sensibility with the practical connectivity most of its wearers actually want. The rose gold cobweb lozenge layout on the black dial gives it a decorative face that reads as jewellery at a glance, sitting on a slim case at 25mm wide and 11mm deep. At 50mm lug to lug it runs long on a narrow wrist, though the silicone strap is soft enough that it settles quickly. The quick-release mechanism means swapping the strap takes seconds without tools, which matters more on a watch that doubles as a fitness tracker than on most. A full charge in two hours buys four to five days of use, which is realistic rather than generous.

Learn more about Radley
Radley London was founded in 1998 as a handbag brand, and named for the founder's Scottish terrier. The dog became the logo, and remains the single most recognisable thing about the label — stamped, embossed, or hanging from a bag as a leather charm.
The watches are licensed rather than manufactured in-house, produced by a specialist watch maker under agreement and sold through the same department stores and jewellers as the bags.
They are designed as accessories to the accessories: slim cases, printed or textured dials, coloured leather straps, and the terrier appearing on the dial, the caseback or the strap keeper. Quartz movements, gift-market pricing.
Radley is a well-run British accessories brand and its watches are exactly what the label suggests they are — coordinated, characterful and inexpensive, rather than horological.

Frequently asked questions, and things you should know about this watch
Will the glass scratch?
It can, over time. Mineral glass handles daily wear but will pick up fine scratches that sapphire would not.
Does it need a battery?
Yes. It is quartz, so expect a battery change every two to three years at a jeweller.
What size strap does it take?
16mm. Any strap of that width will fit, and on most modern watches quick-release bars make the swap a two-minute job with no tools.
Will it fit my wrist?
Lug-to-lug is 50mm, which suits wrists from roughly 16.5cm (6½ inches) upward.
Lug-to-lug decides fit more than case diameter does.
Is it a men's or women's watch?
Listed as women's.
