Stepping up in the same colour and case shape
The Chemin des Tourelles takes its name from the street in Le Locle where Tissot has been based since 1907, and it sits at the centre of what the brand considers its classic mechanical proposition. The collection was updated to carry the Powermatic 80 across all case sizes — a movement developed for Tissot and its Swatch Group stablemates by ETA, running at 21,600 bph with a Nivachron balance spring whose titanium alloy composition gives it meaningful resistance to magnetic fields. The 80-hour reserve is the practical headline: a watch left on the nightstand Friday evening is still running Monday morning. On the wrist, the 42mm case reads as a full-sized dress piece — the 11.3mm profile is trim enough to slide under a cuff without bulk, and the blue sunray dial does what sunray finishing is supposed to do, shifting between deep navy and something closer to cobalt as the light moves. The domed sapphire with its anti-reflective coating keeps the dial readable without flare. The brown leather strap takes a few weeks to settle, but once it has shaped to the wrist the fit is easy and unhurried — appropriate for what is, at its core, a watch meant for long ownership.
