The cushion case, six oversized bezel screws and a bracelet that steps down from 31mm at its widest to a 17mm lug attachment give it the purposeful, industrial weight the collection is built around — this is a design that wants to be noticed. The deep navy sunray dial does most of the visual work up close, shifting between blue-black in flat light and something richer when the angle changes. At 45mm the presence on the wrist is considerable, though the bracelet's tapering integration keeps it from reading as slab-like — it sits as a coherent object rather than a case dropped onto a strap. The movement inside is a Seiko Instruments quartz chronograph, a sensible mechanical decision underneath an otherwise theatrical exterior.

Renzo Rosso founded Diesel in Molvena in 1978, building a denim brand on deliberate irreverence. The watches, produced under licence by Fossil Group, carry that attitude directly.
Where most fashion watches aim for restraint, Diesel does the opposite: oversized cases frequently past 50mm, blacked-out finishes, exposed screws, multiple crowns, and dials that prioritise visual impact over legibility. The Mr Daddy models stack four time zones onto a single dial.
Whether that appeals is a matter of taste, but the design intent is consistent and unmistakable, which is more than can be said for much of the category.
