Casio MT-G-B3000 Series 52mm Mens Watch Black
Ref. MTG-B3000D-1AER
Sits in Casio’s upper tier here — more premium than three quarters of the Casio watches we list, which start at £25.
Price range £25 to £919 across 48 Casio watches in stock. The MT-G line sits above standard G-Shock production as Casio's answer to a particular challenge: how to build a watch that meets the full Triple G Resist standard — shock, centrifugal force, sustained vibration — while wearing more like a dress watch than a field instrument. The MTG-B3000 solves this through a Dual Core Guard architecture in which a carbon-reinforced resin inner shell carries the module, and a stainless steel outer structure wraps around it. Crucially, the caseback is not a separate panel but a structural component machined upward into a three-dimensional form that simultaneously serves as the lug attachment, the crown guard and the button guards. That integration is what brings the height down to 12.1mm — genuinely slim for something built to this protection standard, and slim enough to clear a shirt cuff. At just over 50mm wide and 148 grams, this is not a small watch, and it does not pretend to be. The black dial and case read as a single dark mass at a glance, with the bracelet's silver tones providing the contrast. Timekeeping is handled automatically: Multi Band 6 atomic calibration pulls signals across Europe, North America, Japan and China, while Bluetooth keeps the watch synced to the CASIO WATCHES app when a signal is unavailable. The solar cell means the question of battery replacement simply does not arise.

Frequently asked questions, and things you should know about this watch
Can I swim with it?
Yes. At 200m it is rated for swimming, snorkelling and recreational diving.
Will the glass scratch?
Unlikely. Sapphire is second only to diamond in hardness and shrugs off everyday marking.
Does it need a battery?
No. It is automatic — the motion of your wrist winds it, and there is no cell to replace.
Is it a men's or women's watch?
Listed as men's.
Cheapest place to buy
Goldsmiths is the only UK retailer we track stocking this reference, so there is nothing to compare it against today.
Who are Goldsmiths?
Goldsmiths has been selling watches in Britain since 1778 and is part of the Watches of Switzerland Group, which is listed on the London Stock Exchange. They are an authorised dealer, so a watch comes with the manufacturer’s own warranty.
