Gucci G-Flat watch, 36mm
Ref. YA166403
Sits in Gucci’s upper tier here — more premium than three quarters of the Gucci watches we list, which start at £499.
Price range £499 to £8,130 across 56 Gucci watches in stock. The G-Flat reaches back to Gucci's 1970s archive, when the house was producing watches shaped by the era's appetite for geometric angularity and layered architecture. The octagonal framing and stepped case profile are taken directly from that period, and the silver opaline dial carries 18-carat gold-plated detailing — Roman numerals at twelve and six, baton hands — that keeps the revival from reading as pastiche. At 36mm the case sits comfortably on a range of wrists, and the multi-link bracelet, finished in both brushed and polished surfaces, accommodates anything from 145mm to 200mm. The movement visible through the exhibition caseback is Swiss automatic with a 50-hour reserve, which means a weekend off the wrist without resetting on Monday morning.

Learn more about Gucci
Guccio Gucci opened a leather goods shop in Florence in 1921, and the house became one of the defining Italian luxury brands of the twentieth century.
Gucci's watches occupy unusual ground. Unlike most fashion houses, Gucci produces in Switzerland through its own facility in La Chaux-de-Fonds, and the watches carry Swiss Made designation. The G-Timeless line uses Swiss quartz and automatic movements, and recent references have included in-house-adjacent complications.
The design language is unmistakably Gucci — the green-red-green web stripe, the interlocking Gs, bee and snake motifs — applied to cases that are generally well proportioned. It sits above the licensed-fashion category without claiming to compete with the Swiss manufactures.

Frequently asked questions, and things you should know about this watch
Can I swim with it?
Showering yes, swimming no. 50m covers splashes and brief immersion, but a swimming stroke generates well above the pressure that figure describes.
Will the glass scratch?
Unlikely. Sapphire is second only to diamond in hardness and shrugs off everyday marking.
Does it need a battery?
No. It is automatic — the motion of your wrist winds it, and there is no cell to replace.
How long does it run for when it's not worn?
About 50 hours fully wound — enough to survive a night off the wrist, but not a full weekend.
Is it a men's or women's watch?
Listed as unisex, and at this size it suits any wrist that takes the dimensions.
Cheapest place to buy
Goldsmiths is the only UK retailer we track stocking this reference, so there is nothing to compare it against today.
Who are Goldsmiths?
Goldsmiths has been selling watches in Britain since 1778 and is part of the Watches of Switzerland Group, which is listed on the London Stock Exchange. They are an authorised dealer, so a watch comes with the manufacturer’s own warranty.
