The DolceVita traces its rectangular case back to a 1920s Longines design, and the collection as it stands today launched in 1997 — long enough ago to have proved its proportions, but kept current through periodic revision. This variant carries the softened lines and engraved caseback medallion that mark the updated interpretation. At 20.8mm across the width, the case is genuinely narrow, and the flinqué dial — a silver surface worked in a fine guilloche-style pattern — catches light differently as the wrist moves, which gives a dial of this size more visual presence than a flat print could. Blued steel hands and painted Roman numerals keep the reading legible without cluttering it. The green alligator strap is the choice that separates this reference from the eleven other configurations the same case is offered in, and it reads as a considered colour rather than a safe one.
