Designed to be pinned to a uniform rather than strapped to a wrist, this is a traditional nurse's fob watch in the straightforward sense: face downward at rest, readable when tilted toward you, invisible to a patient. The white dial carries high-contrast Arabic numerals and a red seconds hand against a pulsation track, so a pulse count reads cleanly and quickly. At 25 grams the whole thing sits without pulling on a breast pocket or tunic front. The PC21 movement is sourced from Seiko's quartz production and asks very little of its owner — a battery change every two to three years and nothing more. The luminous hands extend its usefulness into poorly lit wards without requiring a torch.
