Lorus sits beneath Seiko in the same corporate family, and the VD53 movement it shares is a Seiko Instruments calibre — accurate, low-drain, and built to be left alone rather than fussed over. That parentage is not obvious from the outside, but it is where the movement's reputation comes from. At 43mm the case reads large without being unwearable, and 11.4mm of thickness keeps it from stacking too high under a jacket cuff. The black sunray dial organises three subdials without crowding them, and the orange chronograph seconds hand cuts across the layout with enough contrast to read at a glance — which is rather the point of a sports chronograph.
