The Baker collection is Marc by Marc Jacobs at its most considered — the dial spells out M-A-R-C across the upper indices rather than printing a conventional brand name, which turns the branding itself into the hour markers and gives the white face an architectural tidiness that photographs cannot quite capture. At 36mm the case sits level with the wrist bone rather than projecting past it, and the polished steel bracelet follows the curve of the arm closely enough that the whole thing reads as one piece. The seconds subdial sits at six o'clock, keeping the dial symmetrical and slightly more formal than a plain three-hander would be.

Marc Jacobs founded his label in New York in 1984 and spent sixteen years as creative director at Louis Vuitton alongside it, which is where much of the brand's international standing came from.
The watches are licensed. Fossil held the agreement from 2005, launching the main line that autumn and Marc by Marc Jacobs the year after. In 2019 the licence transferred to Bedrock Manufacturing, founded by Fossil's own co-founder Tom Kartsotis.
They are fashion watches and make no pretence otherwise: quartz movements, design led by the label's aesthetic rather than by horology, priced accordingly. If you want the look of the house on your wrist that is exactly what these deliver.
