The Baker collection sits at the practical end of Marc Jacobs' output — small, clean watches designed to complement rather than compete with whatever they are worn alongside. This one pairs a deep navy dial against rose gold case metal, a combination that reads as warmer and less predictable than the usual navy-and-silver. At 28mm it wears close to the wrist and sits neatly under a sleeve. The small seconds sub-dial at six o'clock is the only interruption to an otherwise spare layout, and on a navy ground it registers as a detail rather than a complication. The matching navy leather strap ties the whole thing together without forcing the point.

Marc Jacobs founded his label in New York in 1984 and spent sixteen years as creative director at Louis Vuitton alongside it, which is where much of the brand's international standing came from.
The watches are licensed. Fossil held the agreement from 2005, launching the main line that autumn and Marc by Marc Jacobs the year after. In 2019 the licence transferred to Bedrock Manufacturing, founded by Fossil's own co-founder Tom Kartsotis.
They are fashion watches and make no pretence otherwise: quartz movements, design led by the label's aesthetic rather than by horology, priced accordingly. If you want the look of the house on your wrist that is exactly what these deliver.
