The Baker collection is Marc Jacobs's answer to a specific brief: a small, dress-adjacent watch that reads as deliberate without demanding attention. At 28mm it sits unobtrusively on a narrow wrist, the white dial kept clean by lettered indices rather than applied markers, which keeps the whole thing light rather than decorative. The rose gold PVD over the bracelet and case reads as a single continuous tone from a distance, which suits the scale — a two-colour execution at this size would feel busy. Close up, the link bracelet does the work of anchoring something that might otherwise feel too slight to wear.

Marc Jacobs founded his label in New York in 1984 and spent sixteen years as creative director at Louis Vuitton alongside it, which is where much of the brand's international standing came from.
The watches are licensed. Fossil held the agreement from 2005, launching the main line that autumn and Marc by Marc Jacobs the year after. In 2019 the licence transferred to Bedrock Manufacturing, founded by Fossil's own co-founder Tom Kartsotis.
They are fashion watches and make no pretence otherwise: quartz movements, design led by the label's aesthetic rather than by horology, priced accordingly. If you want the look of the house on your wrist that is exactly what these deliver.
