The Seiko-built NH70 is chosen here specifically because its open architecture makes sense from the front of the watch rather than only through a caseback. At 42mm the watch reads with some presence, and the blue silicone strap keeps it light enough that the case does not drag. The skeleton layout means the dial reads differently depending on the light — in shade it is dense with movement geometry, in direct light the bridges catch and the whole thing opens up. The blue seconds hand pulls focus and provides enough contrast against the silver indices to make the watch legible despite the open dial.

The Maserati brothers founded their workshop in Bologna in 1914 and built racing cars that won the Targa Florio and the Indianapolis 500. The trident emblem comes from the Fountain of Neptune in Bologna.
The watches are a licensed line produced by Morellato Group in Italy, not by the carmaker. They draw openly on automotive design: tachymeter bezels, perforated leather straps recalling racing gloves, dashboard-style dials, and case shapes referencing grilles and instrument binnacles.
Movements are quartz and bought-in automatic. The appeal is the association and the styling rather than the mechanics.
