Stepping up in the same colour and case shape
The Sports Luxe line sets out to sit somewhere between the gymnasium and the cocktail cabinet — a dress watch vocabulary applied to a sportier silhouette — and the Lustre sub-collection leans towards the former. The dial is black mother-of-pearl, which reads differently from flat black: at certain angles it picks up light and shifts, giving the Roman numerals and crystal indices something to contrast against rather than merely sit on. At 36mm with a profile just under 9mm, it wears closer to the wrist than most watches carrying this much hardware. The bracelet is the distinctive detail. Hexagonal links in gold PVD read as a pattern before they read as a bracelet, and the honeycomb geometry keeps the overall look from settling into standard dress territory. The day-date sub-registers give the dial a busier architecture than the usual single-complication Olivia Burton piece, which suits the wider case.

Learn more about Olivia Burton
Lesa Bennett and Jemma Fennings started Olivia Burton in London in 2012, coming from fashion rather than watchmaking and treating the watch as an accessory to be designed rather than a instrument to be engineered.
That showed in the product: illustrated dials, floral and bee motifs, applied three-dimensional details, mesh and leather straps in soft colours. The bee became the signature, and the brand found a large audience among buyers who wanted something with a point of view at under £200.
Movado Group acquired the company in 2017, placing it alongside Movado, Ebel, Concord and MVMT. Production and distribution run through Movado; the design identity has stayed recognisably its own.
The watches are quartz and the appeal is the artwork, not the movement — which is a fair description of what the brand set out to do in the first place.

Frequently asked questions, and things you should know about this watch
Can I swim with it?
No. At 30m it will survive rain and handwashing, but not submersion of any kind.
Will the glass scratch?
It can, over time. Mineral glass handles daily wear but will pick up fine scratches that sapphire would not.
Does it need a battery?
Yes. It is quartz, so expect a battery change every two to three years at a jeweller.
What size strap does it take?
21.5mm. Any strap of that width will fit, and on most modern watches quick-release bars make the swap a two-minute job with no tools.
Is it a men's or women's watch?
Listed as women's, though at 36mm it sits in the range that suits anyone.
