Stepping up in Olivia Burton's range
At 20mm square and 6.6mm thin, this is built to wear as a bracelet does — flush against the wrist, sitting cleanly under a cuff, adding nothing in bulk. The square case reads as a deliberate choice rather than a reduced version of something larger: at this scale it suits slender wrists and stacks naturally alongside other pieces without competing for attention. The ivory sunray dial carries a North Star marker at twelve and crystal dot indices, a combination that keeps the face clearly decorative while remaining legible. Two-tone finishing pairs polished steel with gold IP accents across both case and the multi-link bracelet, which closes on a low-profile push-button deployant and can be sized by link removal for a precise fit.

Learn more about Olivia Burton
Lesa Bennett and Jemma Fennings started Olivia Burton in London in 2012, coming from fashion rather than watchmaking and treating the watch as an accessory to be designed rather than a instrument to be engineered.
That showed in the product: illustrated dials, floral and bee motifs, applied three-dimensional details, mesh and leather straps in soft colours. The bee became the signature, and the brand found a large audience among buyers who wanted something with a point of view at under £200.
Movado Group acquired the company in 2017, placing it alongside Movado, Ebel, Concord and MVMT. Production and distribution run through Movado; the design identity has stayed recognisably its own.
The watches are quartz and the appeal is the artwork, not the movement — which is a fair description of what the brand set out to do in the first place.

Frequently asked questions, and things you should know about this watch
Can I swim with it?
No. At 30m it will survive rain and handwashing, but not submersion of any kind.
Will the glass scratch?
It can, over time. Mineral glass handles daily wear but will pick up fine scratches that sapphire would not.
Does it need a battery?
Yes. It is quartz, so expect a battery change every two to three years at a jeweller.
Is it a men's or women's watch?
Listed as women's.
Cheapest place to buy
Goldsmiths at £139, against £149 at F.Hinds. Two UK retailers stock this reference.
Who are Goldsmiths?
Goldsmiths has been selling watches in Britain since 1778 and is part of the Watches of Switzerland Group, which is listed on the London Stock Exchange. They are an authorised dealer, so a watch comes with the manufacturer’s own warranty.
