A compact smartwatch built for a fashion audience rather than an athletic one, the Series 48 pairs a gold PVD case with a matching stainless steel bracelet in a package that reads as jewellery before it reads as technology. The T-bar lug structure is a deliberate nod to traditional watch construction — an unusual choice for a digital product — and at 35mm it sits proportionally small on the wrist, more in line with a dress watch than most smartwatches of this type. The 1.04-inch AMOLED screen handles visibility in place of any luminous material, with an always-on mode keeping the dial readable without raising the wrist. Radley London was founded in 1998 as a handbag brand, and named for the founder's Scottish terrier. The dog became the logo, and remains the single most recognisable thing about the label — stamped, embossed, or hanging from a bag as a leather charm.
