The movement at its centre is the ETA 6497-1, a hand-wound pocket-watch calibre with a long history in the trade — large-platformed, unhurried at 18,000vph, and well-suited to being displayed because its architecture was never designed to hide. Tissot has opened it up and framed it behind a double-sided anti-reflective sapphire, so the 46-hour reserve winds down in full view from both sides of the case. At 43mm and 12mm deep, it wears with reasonable discretion for a skeleton — thinner than most, which keeps it from riding high under a cuff. The blue Alpha hands track across the exposed movement without disappearing into it, and the seconds sub-dial sits at nine o'clock in the manner of the original pocket-watch layout the 6497 comes from, which gives the dial a coherence that busier skeleton designs often lack. The 22mm black alligator strap grounds what could easily read as fussy, and the deployant clasp means the watch stays put without fiddling with a tang each time.
