Stepping up in Tissot's range

Price range £250 to £2,740 across 252 Tissot watches in stock.

The PRX traces its origins to 1978, when Tissot introduced an integrated-bracelet design that wore the bracelet and case as a single unbroken form. The current generation revives that geometry exactly, and this 35mm version matches the original's dimensions precisely — not as approximation but as deliberate fidelity to a specific object from a specific moment. At 9.6mm thick with a lug-to-lug span of just 34.6mm, it hugs the wrist in a way that larger integrated-bracelet watches rarely manage. The red dial carries a sunburst finish that shifts noticeably under moving light, making it the most expressive element on a watch whose case is otherwise disciplined and minimal. The butterfly clasp sits flush against the underside of the wrist and the bracelet takes its links through a pin system, so swapping straps requires no tools — though precise sizing relies on half-links rather than any micro-adjustment on the clasp itself. The ETA F05.115 includes an end-of-life indicator: when the battery is running low, the seconds hand begins skipping in four-second intervals rather than one, giving clear advance warning without any guesswork about when to act.

Learn more about Tissot

Charles-Félicien Tissot and his son Charles-Émile founded the company in Le Locle in 1853, assembling gold pocket watches and, unusually for the time, exporting aggressively — Russia became a major market within a decade.

Tissot's history is a sequence of firsts achieved through willingness to try materials and ideas the establishment considered unserious. The first mass-produced pocket watch with two time zones came in 1853. The first anti-magnetic wristwatch in 1930. The Astrolon of 1971 was the first watch with a movement made largely of injection-moulded plastic, and it worked. The RockWatch of 1985 used Alpine granite for the case, followed by watches in wood and mother-of-pearl.

The T-Touch of 1999 was the most significant: a tactile sapphire crystal allowing the wearer to access altimeter, barometer, compass, thermometer, and chronograph by touching the glass, years before touchscreens were commonplace.

Tissot merged with Omega in 1930 and both became founding members of what is now the Swatch Group. Its position in the group is volume and accessibility — Swiss mechanical and quartz watches at prices most people can reach, with the Powermatic 80 movement offering an eighty-hour reserve at entry level.

The company has held timekeeping roles across cycling, basketball, motorsport, and fencing.

Frequently asked questions, and things you should know about this watch

Can I swim with it?

Yes. At 100m it is rated for swimming and snorkelling, though not for diving.

Will the glass scratch?

Unlikely. Sapphire is second only to diamond in hardness and shrugs off everyday marking.

Does it need a battery?

Yes. It is quartz, so expect a battery change every two to three years at a jeweller.

What size strap does it take?

11mm. Any strap of that width will fit, and on most modern watches quick-release bars make the swap a two-minute job with no tools.

Will it fit my wrist?

Lug-to-lug is 34.6mm, which suits wrists from roughly 15cm (6 inches) upward.

Lug-to-lug decides fit more than case diameter does.

Is it a men's or women's watch?

Listed as women's, though at 35mm it sits in the range that suits anyone.

Cheapest place to buy

Goldsmiths is the only UK retailer we track stocking this reference, so there is nothing to compare it against today.

Who are Goldsmiths?

Goldsmiths has been selling watches in Britain since 1778 and is part of the Watches of Switzerland Group, which is listed on the London Stock Exchange. They are an authorised dealer, so a watch comes with the manufacturer’s own warranty.
