The TH-Regatta is built around the idea that a sports chronograph should disappear into the kit rather than announce itself — the all-black TR90 construction keeps it exceptionally light at around 50 grams, which becomes obvious the moment you pick it up and again within an hour of wearing it. At 44mm it sits large on the wrist, but that case thickness of 11.9mm means it does not stack up under a cuff the way a lot of chunky sports watches do. The grey accents on the sub-dials and date window do the necessary work of making the chronograph readable without breaking the monochrome logic of the design. The 24-hour sub-dial is a practical addition if you are tracking a second time zone, and the luminous hands hold well enough for low-light use at the surface.

Tommy Hilfiger founded his label in New York in 1985, building it on American preppy sportswear — nautical stripes, red-white-and-blue, collegiate references. The watches are produced under licence by Movado Group.
