The Marine line reaches back to Ulysse Nardin's nineteenth-century work producing marine chronometers for naval fleets, and the Torpilleur carries that heritage forward through a decidedly modern technical lens. The name references the torpedo boat — quick, purposeful, built to a specific brief — and the movement inside reflects that disposition. The UN-118 holds COSC chronometer certification and runs a DIAMonSIL escapement, meaning the lever and escape wheel are silicon coated with diamond-like carbon: harder, lighter, and self-lubricating in a way that conventional metal components are not. A 60-hour power reserve and 50 jewels round out a calibre that punches well above what the case proportions might suggest. On the wrist, the white lacquered dial is legible without being clinical — the blue spade hands read clearly against it, and the oversized Roman numerals give the dial the quietly nautical character the name implies. The display caseback means the movement is the finishing on the reverse, and it earns that exposure.
