Vivienne Westwood The Brunswick 24mm Ladies Watch
Ref. VV333LGYSL
The Brunswick takes its name and its shape from brutalist architecture — the movement that found beauty in exposed concrete, raw geometry and the deliberate refusal of ornament. That thinking is visible immediately in the pyramid-edged bezel, which gives the rectangular case a sculptural density unusual in a watch at 24mm, and in the bracelet, whose sharply angular links read as a continuation of the case rather than an accessory to it. On the wrist it sits compact but substantial, the brushed steel carrying the same hard-edged finish across case and bracelet without interruption. The grey dial keeps the minimalist promise: baton indices, simple hands, and the Westwood orb pressed quietly into the surface rather than applied on top of it — present if you look, invisible if you do not.

Learn more about Vivienne Westwood
Vivienne Westwood and Malcolm McLaren opened a shop at 430 King's Road in 1971, and over the next few years it became the outfitter of British punk. Westwood went on to become one of the most decorated designers Britain has produced, with the orb logo — a sovereign's orb with a Saturn ring — as the house signature from 1987.
The watches are licensed rather than made in-house, produced under agreement by a British accessories manufacturer and sold through department stores and jewellers.
They carry the house language directly: the orb on the crown or the dial, tartan and heritage-check straps, asymmetric cases, and a willingness to be decorative that most watch brands avoid. Quartz movements, fashion pricing.
Westwood died in 2022. The house continues, and the watch line with it.

Frequently asked questions, and things you should know about this watch
Can I swim with it?
Showering yes, swimming no. 50m covers splashes and brief immersion, but a swimming stroke generates well above the pressure that figure describes.
Will the glass scratch?
It can, over time. Mineral glass handles daily wear but will pick up fine scratches that sapphire would not.
Does it need a battery?
Yes. It is quartz, so expect a battery change every two to three years at a jeweller.
Is it a men's or women's watch?
Listed as women's.
Cheapest place to buy
Goldsmiths is the only UK retailer we track stocking this reference, so there is nothing to compare it against today.
Who are Goldsmiths?
Goldsmiths has been selling watches in Britain since 1778 and is part of the Watches of Switzerland Group, which is listed on the London Stock Exchange. They are an authorised dealer, so a watch comes with the manufacturer’s own warranty.
