Diesel's Spiked line has always been built around scale and attitude, and the DZ4644 commits fully to that brief. The case runs to 49mm across the dial face with a lug-to-lug span of 57mm — a watch that occupies the wrist rather than resting on it. What stops it reading as simply large is the construction: the bezel is thin enough that the sunray black dial appears to float within the case, and the mixed brushed and polished finishing on both the case and bracelet keeps the all-black stack from collapsing into a single flat surface. At 13.1mm thick for a chronograph at this diameter, it sits lower than the proportions might suggest. The gold-toned detailing on a black sunray dial catches direction changes in light in a way that plain printed numerals would not, and the 24mm bracelet fills the case shoulders properly rather than leaving a gap.

Renzo Rosso founded Diesel in Molvena in 1978, building a denim brand on deliberate irreverence. The watches, produced under licence by Fossil Group, carry that attitude directly.
Where most fashion watches aim for restraint, Diesel does the opposite: oversized cases frequently past 50mm, blacked-out finishes, exposed screws, multiple crowns, and dials that prioritise visual impact over legibility. The Mr Daddy models stack four time zones onto a single dial.
