Stepping up in Guess's range
The Mod ID collection is built around the idea that a watch can function as a bracelet first — the rectangular case sits within an integrated chain that reads as jewellery on the wrist, not as a watch that happens to be narrow. At 24mm by 29mm, the proportions are closer to a cuff than a dial, and at 7.7mm deep the whole thing lies completely flat against the skin. What makes it work in person is the transition in the bracelet: crystal-set links at the front face shift into a polished brick-link construction at the rear, so the watch has a different character depending on the angle. The deployant clasp closes flush, which keeps the bracelet profile unbroken and means it stacks cleanly against other pieces without snagging.

Learn more about Guess
The Marciano brothers founded Guess in Los Angeles in 1981, building it on denim and advertising that became as well known as the clothes.
The watch line is produced in-house through Guess Watches and Sequel AG, and follows the brand's aesthetic closely: crystal-set bezels, heavy gold and rose gold plating, oversized cases, and dials that favour decoration over legibility. Movements are quartz.
The watches are priced as accessories and sold as such.

Frequently asked questions, and things you should know about this watch
Can I swim with it?
No. At 30m it will survive rain and handwashing, but not submersion of any kind.
Will the glass scratch?
It can, over time. Mineral glass handles daily wear but will pick up fine scratches that sapphire would not.
Does it need a battery?
Yes. It is quartz, so expect a battery change every two to three years at a jeweller.
What size strap does it take?
19mm. Any strap of that width will fit, and on most modern watches quick-release bars make the swap a two-minute job with no tools.
Will it fit my wrist?
Lug-to-lug is 29mm, which suits wrists from roughly 15cm (6 inches) upward.
Lug-to-lug decides fit more than case diameter does.
Is it a men's or women's watch?
Listed as women's.
Cheapest place to buy
Goldsmiths is the only UK retailer we track stocking this reference, so there is nothing to compare it against today.
Who are Goldsmiths?
Goldsmiths has been selling watches in Britain since 1778 and is part of the Watches of Switzerland Group, which is listed on the London Stock Exchange. They are an authorised dealer, so a watch comes with the manufacturer’s own warranty.
