Stepping up in Hamilton's range
The Khaki Field line traces its roots to the military watches Hamilton supplied to American forces through both World Wars, and that heritage sits visibly in the design: Arabic numerals, applied indices, and a navy dial that reads clearly at a glance without asking for attention. At 38mm it is a considered size — large enough to be legible on any wrist but genuinely unisex in proportion, and the matte finish on both the case and bracelet keeps the whole thing closer to a tool than a dress watch. At 126 grams on the wrist the bracelet has real presence, though the matte treatment prevents it from reading as flashy. The ETA F06.105 inside is a Swiss-made quartz calibre chosen for accuracy and long-term reliability rather than mechanical theatre, and the screw-in caseback adds a robustness that the rating alone does not convey. Super-LumiNova on both hands and markers means it holds up in low light the way field watches are supposed to.

Frequently asked questions, and things you should know about this watch
Can I swim with it?
Showering yes, swimming no. 50m covers splashes and brief immersion, but a swimming stroke generates well above the pressure that figure describes.
Will the glass scratch?
Unlikely. Sapphire is second only to diamond in hardness and shrugs off everyday marking.
Does it need a battery?
Yes. It is quartz, so expect a battery change every two to three years at a jeweller.
What size strap does it take?
20mm. Any strap of that width will fit, and on most modern watches quick-release bars make the swap a two-minute job with no tools.
Will it fit my wrist?
Lug-to-lug is 46mm, which suits wrists from roughly 16cm (6¼ inches) upward.
Lug-to-lug decides fit more than case diameter does.
Is it a men's or women's watch?
Listed as unisex, and at this size it suits any wrist that takes the dimensions.
Cheapest place to buy
Goldsmiths is the only UK retailer we track stocking this reference, so there is nothing to compare it against today.
Who are Goldsmiths?
Goldsmiths has been selling watches in Britain since 1778 and is part of the Watches of Switzerland Group, which is listed on the London Stock Exchange. They are an authorised dealer, so a watch comes with the manufacturer’s own warranty.
