The watch comes from a family-owned French manufacture that has been assembling in France for generations, a fact the caseback quietly records. At 7.1mm thick, the case disappears under a cuff despite the 100m rating, which is a genuine achievement for a bracelet watch of this construction. The interplay of brushed and polished surfaces is doing real work here: the vertical brushing reads as restrained in flat light, then the polished facets catch an angle and the whole thing shifts. The black mother-of-pearl dial reinforces that quality — the horizontal engraving gives it texture and depth rather than the blank reflectivity that cheaper dials tend toward.
