The Newport line has always carried a nautical reference — the central lug attachment, the crown engraved with a ship's wheel — but the Slim takes those details and reworks them for a very different purpose. Where the original Newport was built for the water, this version is drawn for the wrist of someone who dresses carefully: at 5.85mm it sits almost flush against the skin, and a formal cuff closes over it without catching. The mother-of-pearl dial behaves differently at different hours, shifting from pale silver to faint iridescence depending on where the light finds it. Faceted baton markers and dauphine hands in polished steel sit against that surface with just enough contrast to keep legibility easy. The steel bracelet and deployant clasp give the whole piece a consistency of finish — nothing breaks the line — though sizing requires removing links rather than using a slider, so it is worth having that done properly at the outset.
