The tonneau case — curved at the sides, narrow enough to sit like a set piece on the wrist — belongs to that tradition rather than to contemporary sports or dress conventions. At 18mm, the proportions are deliberately delicate, and the Roman numerals on the silver dial reinforce the period reference without becoming decorative noise.
