ID Genève built its name around the question of what a Swiss automatic could be made from, and the Circular S is that question answered in steel. The case material is not conventional stainless: it is 4441-grade steel recycled and forged using solar energy, carrying a carbon footprint of 0.041 kg CO2 equivalent against the 6.8 kg that the same alloy produces through standard production — a reduction of 165 times. The vegetal textile strap continues the same logic without making a performance of it. At 41mm the watch sits in genuinely unisex territory, and the silver dial with baton markers keeps the reading clean and uncluttered — the kind of face that asks nothing of you in low light or full sun. The fluted sides give the case enough visual interest that it does not read as austere, while the overall restraint means it moves between settings without drawing attention to itself.
