The double half hunter is one of the more considered forms in pocket watch design: front and back lids both carry central viewing windows, so the time is readable without disturbing the case, and the movement itself is visible through the rear aperture without opening anything at all. Both covers can be propped open, converting the piece into a desk clock — a small but genuinely useful piece of engineering that the single hunter cannot manage. The 17-jewel manual movement is skeletonised at the centre, and the rear window gives a direct view of the working parts — what some makers call a heartbeat window. Around it, a white chapter ring carries Roman numerals and ornate hands in a style that makes no concession to the contemporary. The chrome-plated finish is polished throughout, and the supplied Albert chain attaches in the traditional manner to a waistcoat or buttonhole.
