This one draws further back, to the chronographs Longines was producing from 1878 onward, translated here into something altogether softer: a 34mm round case in brushed and polished steel with red gold PVD on the case and bracelet both, a white mother-of-pearl dial, and eleven Top Wesselton VS-SI diamonds standing in for the hour markers. At 34mm it sits neatly on a smaller wrist without disappearing, and the rose-toned hands read clearly against the pearl without competing with the stones. The L156 includes an end-of-life battery indicator, which is quietly useful — the movement will tell you when it needs attention rather than simply stopping.
