Against the grey sunray dial, the bronze-toned accents read as a deliberate flourish rather than a standard trim choice, and they pull through to the strap in a way that holds the whole thing together. The VD53 is a Seiko-built calibre, which means it is made by the parent company that supplies movements to its own prestige lines — straightforward to service, accurate without adjustment, and the chronograph function runs without the hesitation that cheaper column-wheel alternatives can show at cold temperatures.
