Louis Erard Le Régulateur x Alain Silberstein Limited Edition 40mm Unisex Watch Green
Ref. 85358TT06.BTT89
Sits in Louis Erard’s upper tier here — more premium than three quarters of the Louis Erard watches we list, which start at £1,975.
Price range £1,975 to £17,500 across 31 Louis Erard watches in stock. The Régulateur is the watch type that made practical sense before the minute hand existed — separating hours, minutes and seconds onto independent registers so a clockmaker could read each without one obscuring another. Louis Erard has kept that logic intact here, with the large white arrow given the full dial for minutes, the hours relegated to a subdial at twelve and the small seconds at six, then handed the whole arrangement to Alain Silberstein. He is the French architect who has spent decades arguing that watchmaking does not have to be solemn, and his signature is immediately legible: a serpentine yellow hand for the seconds, geometry where other designers would have chosen restraint. This is one of 178 examples made as part of the Triptyque Khaki series launched in late 2023. The case pairs micro-blasted grade 2 titanium for the main structure with polished grade 5 sidebars — the harder alloy used in aerospace where wear resistance matters — so the 40mm case is lighter than it looks and the finish varies across the same surface. Quick-release grade 2 titanium lugs integrate with the khaki nylon strap, meaning strap changes take seconds without tools. The Sellita SW266-1 ND running underneath is a movement modified specifically for regulator layout, which accounts for the dial architecture rather than fighting it.

Frequently asked questions, and things you should know about this watch
Can I swim with it?
Yes. At 100m it is rated for swimming and snorkelling, though not for diving.
Will the glass scratch?
Unlikely. Sapphire is second only to diamond in hardness and shrugs off everyday marking.
Does it need a battery?
No. It is automatic — the motion of your wrist winds it, and there is no cell to replace.
How long does it run for when it's not worn?
About 38 hours fully wound — so it will usually stop if you leave it off overnight.
What size strap does it take?
22.7mm. Any strap of that width will fit, and on most modern watches quick-release bars make the swap a two-minute job with no tools.
Is it a men's or women's watch?
Listed as unisex, and at this size it suits any wrist that takes the dimensions.
Cheapest place to buy
Goldsmiths is the only UK retailer we track stocking this reference, so there is nothing to compare it against today.
Who are Goldsmiths?
Goldsmiths has been selling watches in Britain since 1778 and is part of the Watches of Switzerland Group, which is listed on the London Stock Exchange. They are an authorised dealer, so a watch comes with the manufacturer’s own warranty.
