That influence is most legible on the dial, where a black sunburst finish radiates outward in a way that reads as engine-turned metalwork, and the crown carries a knurled grip and an engraved trident rather than the plain pushers found on most watches at this level. At 43mm the case is substantial, but 10.5mm of thickness keeps it from reading as bulky, and the silicone strap tapers from an unusually wide 28mm at the lug before narrowing down the wrist, which gives the whole assembly a sense of being drawn together rather than simply bolted. The Maserati brothers founded their workshop in Bologna in 1914 and built racing cars that won the Targa Florio and the Indianapolis 500. The trident emblem comes from the Fountain of Neptune in Bologna.
The watches are a licensed line produced by Morellato Group in Italy, not by the carmaker. They draw openly on automotive design: tachymeter bezels, perforated leather straps recalling racing gloves, dashboard-style dials, and case shapes referencing grilles and instrument binnacles.
