Stepping up in Maserati's range
The Successo collection is Maserati's attempt to carry the brand's automotive identity onto the wrist, and this reference does that most plainly through the dial. The sunray-brushed grey surface, orange seconds hand and trident at twelve read as a cockpit more than a watch face — deliberately so, and the effect is coherent rather than laboured. At 42mm across and only 11mm deep, it wears closer to the arm than most steel-bracelet watches at this diameter, which means it moves under a cuff without catching. The Miyota quartz inside is a Citizen subsidiary movement: dependable, accurate, and the kind of thing that simply runs without demanding attention for years at a stretch. At 130 grams on the steel bracelet the watch has real presence without feeling like ballast.

Learn more about Maserati
The Maserati brothers founded their workshop in Bologna in 1914 and built racing cars that won the Targa Florio and the Indianapolis 500. The trident emblem comes from the Fountain of Neptune in Bologna.
The watches are a licensed line produced by Morellato Group in Italy, not by the carmaker. They draw openly on automotive design: tachymeter bezels, perforated leather straps recalling racing gloves, dashboard-style dials, and case shapes referencing grilles and instrument binnacles.
Movements are quartz and bought-in automatic. The appeal is the association and the styling rather than the mechanics.

Frequently asked questions, and things you should know about this watch
Can I swim with it?
Showering yes, swimming no. 50m covers splashes and brief immersion, but a swimming stroke generates well above the pressure that figure describes.
Will the glass scratch?
It can, over time. Mineral glass handles daily wear but will pick up fine scratches that sapphire would not.
Does it need a battery?
Yes. It is quartz, so expect a battery change every two to three years at a jeweller.
Is it a men's or women's watch?
Listed as men's.
