Stepping up in Maserati's range

Price range £104 to £419 across 106 Maserati watches in stock.

The Epoca collection takes its name and orientation from Maserati's motorsport heritage, but this particular piece reads more as an Italian-accented dress watch than anything track-adjacent. The deep blue sunray dial carries the Trident at twelve and a sub-dial arrangement showing day, date and 24-hour indication — a layout that looks like a chronograph at a glance but is doing something more quietly useful. At 10.9mm thick, it sits flat enough on the wrist to pass under a shirt cuff without protest, which matters more for a watch worn in an office than a pit lane. The Milanese mesh bracelet adjusts by sliding rather than by link removal, so fitting it to the wrist takes seconds; the hook-and-fold clasp holds the position once set. The movement is a Japanese TMI VX9JE1 — the same group that supplies Seiko — which means the quartz works reliably and the day-date display will not require coaxing.

Learn more about Maserati

The Maserati brothers founded their workshop in Bologna in 1914 and built racing cars that won the Targa Florio and the Indianapolis 500. The trident emblem comes from the Fountain of Neptune in Bologna.

The watches are a licensed line produced by Morellato Group in Italy, not by the carmaker. They draw openly on automotive design: tachymeter bezels, perforated leather straps recalling racing gloves, dashboard-style dials, and case shapes referencing grilles and instrument binnacles.

Movements are quartz and bought-in automatic. The appeal is the association and the styling rather than the mechanics.

Frequently asked questions, and things you should know about this watch

Can I swim with it?

Yes. At 100m it is rated for swimming and snorkelling, though not for diving.

Will the glass scratch?

It can, over time. Mineral glass handles daily wear but will pick up fine scratches that sapphire would not.

Does it need a battery?

Yes. It is quartz, so expect a battery change every two to three years at a jeweller.

What size strap does it take?

22mm. Any strap of that width will fit, and on most modern watches quick-release bars make the swap a two-minute job with no tools.

Is it a men's or women's watch?

Listed as men's.
