Maserati R8823118012 Epoca Automatic Mesh Bracelet Watch - W81140
Ref. R8823118012
Sits in Maserati’s upper tier here — more premium than three quarters of the Maserati watches we list, which start at £104.
Price range £104 to £419 across 106 Maserati watches in stock. The Epoca collection is Maserati's attempt to bring the brand's motorsport character into dress-watch territory, and this reference does it through contrast: a deep blue sunray skeleton dial against an all-black PVD case and matching mesh bracelet. The openwork dial lets the NH70's balance wheel sit in full view from the front, which is a more honest way to show movement architecture than a caseback window that most wearers never see. At 42mm with a 13.3mm profile, it wears with reasonable presence without being unwieldy, and the fine mesh bracelet drapes close to the wrist in the way woven bracelets do when they are properly made. The sliding deployant clasp adjusts without tools, which matters more on mesh than it does on a link bracelet where the fit is less critical to comfort.

Learn more about Maserati
The Maserati brothers founded their workshop in Bologna in 1914 and built racing cars that won the Targa Florio and the Indianapolis 500. The trident emblem comes from the Fountain of Neptune in Bologna.
The watches are a licensed line produced by Morellato Group in Italy, not by the carmaker. They draw openly on automotive design: tachymeter bezels, perforated leather straps recalling racing gloves, dashboard-style dials, and case shapes referencing grilles and instrument binnacles.
Movements are quartz and bought-in automatic. The appeal is the association and the styling rather than the mechanics.

Frequently asked questions, and things you should know about this watch
Can I swim with it?
Yes. At 100m it is rated for swimming and snorkelling, though not for diving.
Will the glass scratch?
Unlikely. Sapphire is second only to diamond in hardness and shrugs off everyday marking.
Does it need a battery?
No. It is automatic — the motion of your wrist winds it, and there is no cell to replace.
What size strap does it take?
21mm. Any strap of that width will fit, and on most modern watches quick-release bars make the swap a two-minute job with no tools.
Is it a men's or women's watch?
Listed as men's.
