Traguardo means "finish line" in Italian, and the collection draws directly from Maserati's motorsport heritage — the tachymeter bezel is not ornamental here but a deliberate nod to the instruments that have surrounded the marque's drivers for decades. The automotive reference runs to the coined-edge finish on the bezel wall, a texture that reads as purposeful rather than decorative once you know where it comes from. At 45mm the watch makes no attempt at restraint, and the three subdials on the blue dial fill that space without crowding it. The Maserati brothers founded their workshop in Bologna in 1914 and built racing cars that won the Targa Florio and the Indianapolis 500. The trident emblem comes from the Fountain of Neptune in Bologna.
The watches are a licensed line produced by Morellato Group in Italy, not by the carmaker. They draw openly on automotive design: tachymeter bezels, perforated leather straps recalling racing gloves, dashboard-style dials, and case shapes referencing grilles and instrument binnacles.
