Maserati R8871640004 Sfida Chronograph Blue Silicon Strap Watch - W81135
Ref. R8871640004
Sits in Maserati’s upper tier here — more premium than three quarters of the Maserati watches we list, which start at £104.
Price range £104 to £419 across 106 Maserati watches in stock. The Sfida collection takes its name from the Italian for challenge, and the design brief is clear enough: a racing aesthetic translated into an everyday sports watch, with the tachymeter bezel and sub-dial layout borrowing their visual grammar from the pit lane rather than the boardroom. The Maserati badge does the job of tying it to the prancing horse's motorsport heritage without requiring the movement inside to make the same claim. At 44mm across and 11.4mm deep, this is a watch that announces itself on the wrist — the gold PVD case and blue sunray dial with contrasting gold sub-dials read as a deliberate contrast rather than an understatement. The silicone strap keeps the 100-gram case from feeling punishing through a long day, and at this thickness it will slide under a casual cuff without difficulty. The Miyota JS25 inside is a Japanese quartz calibre that runs accurately and needs very little from its owner — a sensible choice for a watch worn hard.

Learn more about Maserati
The Maserati brothers founded their workshop in Bologna in 1914 and built racing cars that won the Targa Florio and the Indianapolis 500. The trident emblem comes from the Fountain of Neptune in Bologna.
The watches are a licensed line produced by Morellato Group in Italy, not by the carmaker. They draw openly on automotive design: tachymeter bezels, perforated leather straps recalling racing gloves, dashboard-style dials, and case shapes referencing grilles and instrument binnacles.
Movements are quartz and bought-in automatic. The appeal is the association and the styling rather than the mechanics.

Frequently asked questions, and things you should know about this watch
Can I swim with it?
Yes. At 100m it is rated for swimming and snorkelling, though not for diving.
Will the glass scratch?
It can, over time. Mineral glass handles daily wear but will pick up fine scratches that sapphire would not.
Does it need a battery?
Yes. It is quartz, so expect a battery change every two to three years at a jeweller.
What size strap does it take?
22mm. Any strap of that width will fit, and on most modern watches quick-release bars make the swap a two-minute job with no tools.
Is it a men's or women's watch?
Listed as men's.
