Stepping up in Michael Kors's range
The Runway line is Michael Kors's most recognisable family, and the MK3131 makes its priorities clear from the bracelet outward. Those twisted, ID-style links drape rather than sit rigid, giving the whole piece a fluid, jewellery-like movement on the wrist that a conventional link construction would not produce. At 161 grams it has real presence — this is not a watch that disappears. At 38mm the case reads confidently on the wrist without crossing into territory designed for men, though at 14mm through the case it sits noticeably proud — this is a piece that announces itself rather than disappearing beneath a sleeve. The champagne dial with chronograph subdials reads warmly against the gold tone, and the deployant clasp integrates cleanly into the bracelet's twisted geometry without interrupting it.

Learn more about Michael Kors
Michael Kors founded his label in New York in 1981 and built it on accessible American luxury. The watches are produced under licence by Fossil Group and have been among the highest-volume fashion watches sold worldwide.
The design leans decorative: gold and rose gold plating, pavé crystal settings, oversized chronograph subdials that are frequently non-functional, and bracelets that echo the jewellery line. Movements are quartz.
These are styling-led accessories, priced accordingly, and they are honest about what they are.

Frequently asked questions, and things you should know about this watch
Can I swim with it?
Showering yes, swimming no. 50m covers splashes and brief immersion, but a swimming stroke generates well above the pressure that figure describes.
Will the glass scratch?
It can, over time. Mineral glass handles daily wear but will pick up fine scratches that sapphire would not.
Does it need a battery?
Yes. It is quartz, so expect a battery change every two to three years at a jeweller.
What size strap does it take?
21mm. Any strap of that width will fit, and on most modern watches quick-release bars make the swap a two-minute job with no tools.
Is it a men's or women's watch?
Listed as women's, though at 38mm it sits in the range that suits anyone.
